OS Vol. 1: Deserted Felines

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

Accessories du jour, OS, just released a short video for their first collection. The scoring is fantastic and I love the dark nature of the film. Kudos to Charles Buenconsejo and the OS team (Paul Jatayna, AJ Omandac & Kat Medina).

More about the film:

The film of OS is inspired with the wild stray cats wandering off the streets. These deserted felines become agitated beasts, always scavenging for food and shelter as they wander off for survival in the jungle known to man-the city. This video exhibits the spirit of both the raw and the primitive yet contemporary which is similar to the aesthetic of OS's first collection.

And mmmmm...I'm lusting over this OS body harness. I believe it will be part of the 2nd Collection. I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Somber Lullaby

(Leather Jacket: Topshop // Top: Details // Skirt: Thrifted // Wedges: F21 // Necklace: Gold Dot)

Playing around with different layers of black. The wrap-around top that I'm wearing in this post has been with me since 2004. It has definitely served me well.

Banana Island

Sunday, July 24, 2011

(Swimwear: Cole Vintage // Hat: from Bangkok)

These photos were taken on our 3rd day in Palawan. We spent the whole day in Banana Island -- a beautiful, secluded island with pristine blue green water and white, powdery sand. The water in the island is so clear that you if you just tilt your head down, you can already see a school of fishes. My friends and I spent our time lounging around, snorkeling, having a mini photo shoot beside gorgeous rock formations (haha!), playing frisbee and getting sunburnt without a care. We also saw the sun set down on our way back to the city. Mother Nature has such wonderful tricks up her sleeve to leave your jaw agape at her beauty.

See photos from Day 2 HERE.

P.S. Thank you so much to Cole Vintage for the lovely swimwear I wore in this post. I just love the 50's vibe of the bikini.Ladies, I definitely suggest that you check out the Cole Vintage shops (they have one in Ramp, Glorietta). The bikinis are just Php 899 (if I'm not mistaken) a pair!

Gold Dot Turns Golden

Friday, July 22, 2011

Gold Dot is finally releasing its special anniversary collection this weekend! I'm excited about this!

As you can see from the photos, the concept for the new collection is all about "Japan". All of the shoes have wooden platforms which bring to mind Japanese clogs.

There are four designs in the new collection, named after four local bloggers (including yours truly):

"Kookie" Wedges (available in Black & Taupe)

"Lloyda" Mary Jane Platforms (available in Red & Gray)

"Mike" Platforms (available in Gray/Black & Red/Black)

"Karl" Wedges (available in Silver & Black Brocade)

You guys shouldn't miss out on this new collection. Save the dates! July 30-31!

Paparazzi

Thursday, July 21, 2011

(Jacket: from HK // Shorts: Thrifted // Boots: Gold Dot)

Nothing new here. Just a mish-mash of old pieces.

P.S. I would like to credit my boss for these candid, paparazzi-like shots. :)

Itching For New Ink

Wednesday, July 20, 2011

It's been almost six months since I got my last tattoo...and after 2 years, 4 body parts and 4 inks, I'm ready to get another one. I know it sounds crazy, but getting inked can be quite addictive. For my fifth ink, I'm planning to get it done on a body part that can be concealed from the searing eyes of the parentals (haha!). And just for fun, I think it would be nice to try out a new shop and a new artist this time.

So while I was 'googling' for new tattoo designs and new local shops to try, I stumbled upon Republic Tattoo. After a quick browse through the shop's portfolio, I'm convinced that Republic Tattoo is the next tattoo shop to try. Just look at the detail, colors and line work on these tattoos:

Damn, that celestial mermaid work (in the last photo) is a killer! Really amazing works, I must say.

I'm definitely trying out Republic Tattoo soon. I'm excited to hear the buzz of the machine and to feel the tiny needles pricking my skin again. Ah, that's ink euphoria for you.

I'll keep you guys posted on when I plan to get my next ink!

P.S. If you're interested to check out Republic Tattoo as well, you can get all the deets from here:

Gray Casual

Tuesday, July 19, 2011

(Sweater: Topshop // Shorts: Wolf in Sheep's Clothing // Boots: Jeffrey Campbell // Eyewear: Mango)

Leaving you guys with a casual outfit post before I get officially swamped with a heck load of work. Do expect sporadic posts from me (or not) in the coming weeks.

By the way, I got the sweater for less than Php 600 ($13) from Topshop's recent clearance sale. Sweet!

Gray wedges from Five by Five

New shoes that have managed to squeeze their way in inside my shoe closet.

My favorites are the Senso-inspired wedges in black and gray. I can't afford the real deal so these would have to do.
