Brown Pleats

(Silver Top: Zara // Skirt: Shop Incez Axe // Boots: Chloe Sevigny x Opening Ceremony)

A cheerleader pleated skirt...something some of you probably won't or didn't even expect me to wear. I must admit, it is a bit darn 'girly' for my taste but I'm having tons of fun wearing it (so much so that you'll see it again in an upcoming post very soon). I just need to pair it with a knit jumper and I'll be safe.

Enjoy the most out of this long weekend, loves! Happy Halloween!

Red Hot Fury + Animal Prints

Friday, October 28, 2011

(Pants, Cardigan, Eyewear, Earrings, Clutch: Mango // Boots: Chloe Sevigny x Opening Ceremony)

Acid bright red pants paired with animal prints.

This is what I wore for the 3rd Mango x Stylebible Blogger Challenge. I saw a number of animal print pieces in the Mango store but I ended up going with this cropped cardigan. I knew it would go well with the red skinny jeans and a pair of platform boots. And oh, I'm totally obsessed with the animal-print clutch! It's made of genuine leather and horse hair. Really decadent, I must say.

Shoe Fetish

Thursday, October 27, 2011

Gah! My Dolce Vita "Wilix" boots are here!

I mentioned in a previous POST that I'm quite obsessed with low-heeled ankle boots...so I'm beyond ecstatic to finally get my hands on this pair of Wilix boots. It's everything I expected it to be. It's pretty bad ass and sturdy and will go perfectly well with my muscle shirts and denim shorts. Aside from the boots, I also got myself a pair of chunky peeptoe platforms. They remind me of the shoes from Prada and Steve Madden. Ordered these shoes, plus a pair of Jeffrey Campbell "Busted" (yay for platform creepers!) from Feet For A Queen.

On a slightly different note (but still related to shopping), I've been constantly seeing various local replicas of Cambridge Satchels. While doing a bit of Search-And-Shop, I stumbled upon a fluorescent yellow Cambridge replica via The Bag Finder PH. Fluoro Yellow! Holy cow! This is my first time seeing a locally-made fluoro satchel and it looks yummy! I had an authentic Cambridge fluoro yellow 11" satchel pre-ordered from a local shoe shop about four months ago (which is equivalent to a decade of waiting, if you ask me) but until now, THAT bag is still MIA. Makes me want to get this replica from Honeybadger Satchels instead! Damn!

Oh well...

Painterly Effect

(Top: Brown Belly // Shorts: Bim Bim Haus // Gladiator Sandals: from HK // Eyewear: H&M)

Had the opportunity to take a breather from work two weeks ago. Immediately headed out to my favorite beach spot in San Juan, La Union. Bought this satin top with paint splatter print from the surf store where we stayed. I figured that it would go well with the colors of my ombre denims...and it did!

Will share photos of my beach trip in an upcoming post. Take care, lovelies!

Blue & Orange

Tuesday, October 25, 2011

(Dress & Eyewear: Mango // Boots: Miista // Clutch: courtesy of Cole Vintage)

I've been drawn to blue hues lately. Complemented this blue striped dress with tangerine accents via  the clutch, "Morange" lips and orange & turquoise leopard-print nails.

It's Philippine Fashion Week once again. What shows will you be attending?

Stripes & Animal Prints

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

(Top & Skirt: from The Ramp // Boots: Chloe Sevigny x Opening Ceremony // Eyewear: Mango)

What I wore the Multiply Shopping Party last night (more on the event in an upcoming post). I'm madly obsessed with this tangerine pencil-cut striped skirt (I also have it in black and white stripes!). I just find the fit and length to be perfect for my frame. Just for fun, I paired it with a light pink animal print top. Who knew animal prints and stripes can go well together? Finally got to wear my Chloe Sevigny boots out as well. I got them one size smaller than my regular foot size but they still fit me well. They're comfortable to walk in too.

P.S. Thank you so much to the readers who dropped by the party last night! If you have photos of us, do email them to me at deathbyplatforms01@gmail.com. I would love to post them here!

Mullet Skirt

Monday, October 17, 2011

(Cardigan: Zara // Top: Topshop // Skirt: F21 // Boots: Jeffrey Campbell // Silver Bangles: Parfois // Friendship Chain Bracelet: courtesy of Extremefinds Co.)

You've seen me wear this skirt knotted on the side HERE. Now, I'm wearing it mullet style. The pinning is a bit shabby but it works well with the whole unfussy grunge look I was going for. Sealed the look with an old slouchy cardigan, piled-on silver bangles and a cool friendship bracelet. I have this friendship bracelet in two other colors (you saw one version HERE) and when all worn together, it's an arm party waiting to happen.

P.P.S. Be prepared to cringe in disgust because you'll be seeing more of this black smelly beanie in upcoming posts. Hahaha!

Cocomo

Friday, October 14, 2011

You guys may not know this but I love collecting bikinis, particularly bandeau-type ones with detachable straps (that I can wear while surfing). I don't like wearing triangles as much because it leaves a nasty tan line on the upper body. I'm not into lounge-type bikini designs as well (i.e. maillots and bandage bikinis) because I don't like "lounging" on the beach or in the pool...I always want to be active (like run around or swim).

I want to thank Cocomo for sending me this cute bandeau bikini top with a semi-boyleg bottom (I love the rivets and the tie-up waistband design) and a pair of slouchy drawstring beach pants. It's time to replace my old ratty Thai beach pants with this white pair!

Go get your beachwear fix at COCOMO CLOTHING.

Silver & Blue

Thursday, October 13, 2011

(Silver Top: Zara // Pants: Mango // Boots: Five by Five // Necklace: Parfois // Turban: courtesy of Yhansy // Blue & White Studded Bracelet: courtesy of Wear Mauve // Friendship Links Bracelet: courtesy of Extremefinds Co)

I finally caved in to the lure of this silver top from Zara (after weeks of serious contemplation). I love how the silver tone is a bit muted, which makes for easy pairing with other pieces from my closet. For a pop of color, I added a blue turban and some colorful bracelets.

Oh, did you notice my bright pink lips?

It's courtesy of NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme in "Addis Ababa". It looks a bit like MAC's Candy Yum Yum, don't you think? Got it from my trusted online seller, Digital Traincase, via Multiply Marketplace. Did a bit of research and found these other merchants selling the same lippie:

Thank goodness for Multiply Marketplace! With its Search function, you can easily look for the items you want.
